New Year's salutations from the Manning Entertainment Centre as we embark upon a fresh year of enthralling entertainment. We're back following a refreshing break to recharge and now we're raring to go with a calendar jam packed with exciting shows for 2020.
Our January to July 2020 Brochure is now available and we're mailing them out to patrons as I type. We'll be distributing these to MidCoast libraries, council admin centres and local cafes, and of course you'll be able to find them at Stockland Forster where you can also buy tickets to the shows. If you would like a copy of the brochure, please give us a call here at the MEC on 6592 5466, and we will pop on in the post for you.
The first show off the block this year is a fantastic live concert production that takes you on a journey through the incredible music of Motown on Thursday, February 27.
"Songs In The Key Of Motown" transports audiences back to an era of music that formed a major cornerstone in American music of the '60s and '70s when a recording studio in a converted Detroit house dubbed "Hitsville USA" was the home of a sound that became one of the most stunning success stories of the 20th century.
It churned out the hits of Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, the Marvelettes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Lionel Richie and the Commodores and more.
No other record company in history has exerted such an enormous influence on both the style and substance of popular music and culture, with more than 180 No. 1 hit songs worldwide and counting. "Songs In The Key Of Motown" brings you those brilliant songs live, with costuming, choreography, harmonies, energy and excitement that are second to none.
Featuring an all-star musical line-up direct from the USA, you'll experience the incredible dance moves of The Jackson 5 and The Supremes, and feel the peerless soul of Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye.
It's been on a sold-out run globally, and now we proudly present your chance to see, hear and feel this fantastic show for yourself on Thursday, February 27 at 7.30pm. Tickets available at theMEC.com.au ph 6592 5466 or Stockland Forster.
