Still reeling from a destructive storm that severely damaged the clubhouse and boat shed in March 2019, the club utilised a marquee to coordinate the event and muster competitors ahead of races.
The club's publicity officer Hugh McLeod said MidCoast Council provided funding for the structure.
"That was fantastic and we had a lot of people commenting about how well it worked," Hugh said.
"We put it in front of the boat shed to act as a central location.
"Despite not having the boat shed, the whole event still ran smoothly."
The ongoing bushfire crisis across NSW had minimal impact on competitor numbers although clubs from the fire ravaged south coast area were unable to attend.
"It was very well attended and marginally down on last year's numbers," Hugh said.
"We also had a few clubs coming from places affected by bushfires so considering that we were pleased with the turnout."
Hugh labelled the racing as 'exceptional', with more than 600 rowers in action across the three days of competition.
He said winds were challenging on the first day of the regatta but no one was hampered on the water.
A light sprinkle of rain was also a welcome sight.
In the feature event of the weekend, University of Technology Sydney secured its fourth successive win in the mixed A-grade eight final.
The team, made up of Elliot Shackcloth-Bertinetti, Liam Glackin, Fergus Pullan, Anna O'Hanlon, Freddie Gibbes, Adelaide Guinness, Luca Roncolata, Laura Wunderlich, and Hally Chapman, edged out Sydney University and University of NSW to claim the win.
"It was a really good race, we had 16 boats on course with handicaps applied," Hugh said.
With the win, the crew was awarded $1500 and a $1000 voucher from Croker Oars.
Manning River rowers will now prepare for a regatta at Berry Park on the first weekend of February.
"This is a double header event the club likes to attend," Hugh explained.
He expects a couple of junior rowers will also attend the NSW Rowing Championships next month.
