Taree and District Model Railway Club can made for a great day out during the school holidays. It's located in the old goods shed at Taree, accessed via Manning Street. The club meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, excluding public holidays, between 8.30am and 4pm.

Wingham Museum
Manning Valley Historical Society's Wingham Museum is open every day from 10am to 4pm, but closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The museum has been named by the Powerhouse as one of the top regional museums in NSW, with an extensive collection of rare historical items that evoke the simplicity of yesteryear. Entry fees apply, adults $5, pensioners $4, children $1 and family $10.
Cundletown Museum
The Cundletown and Lower Manning Historical Society's Cundletown Museum is open Tuesdays to Sundays, 10am until 3pm but closed Christmas Day and Boxling Day. In particular the museum is known for its major collection of all aspects of the dairy industry and include the extra activities of the farmers of timber and sleeper cutting, which supplemented their income. River trading was prevalent along the lower reaches of the Manning River in the early days, when the river was the highway linking each district or settlements.
The museum has plethora of homemade and crafted gifts, woodwork, hand-towels, homemade jams and pickles, baby wraps, baby toys, summer scarves, cushions, cloth bags and a range of unique Cow Craft items.
Ii also has a large range of historical books and publications for sale, including books featuring towns of the Lower Manning Valley, the locally produced companion set (book and DVD) featuring the Coopernook Forest and Langley Vale Tramway, and Harvey Else's extraordinary biography, 'Pilot on the Edge'.
Tinonee Museum
Tinonee Historical Society Museum is a small unique museum where you can research the history of the area. The museum comprises a number of rooms incorporating a sporting room, dining room, children's bedroom and commerce room which also displays items of war memorabilia. A workroom and kitchen at the rear of the premises are used by the museum volunteer staff. Various craft items together with local history booklets are available for purchase.
A heritage garden provides a peaceful setting to enjoy a gentle walk. The original Tinonee gaol cell and the detached rebuilt police stables provide an interesting insight into the ways of the constabulary of old. Opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 10am to 2pm, and Saturday 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
Great Lakes Museum
This museum is located at 1 Capel Street, Tuncurry. It is a not-for-profit social history and maritime museum engaged in collecting, researching, preserving and exhibiting artefacts and documentary material relating to the area
Opening times Tuesday to Friday 10am to 2pm, Saturday 1pm to 4pm, Sunday 1pm to 4pm; closed Mondays, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Admission is adults $5, children $2.
