The eighth annual Summerfest, an event that showcases young local performers as well as established acts from around the country, will be held this Saturday, December 7 at Harry Bennett Park, Taree.
Planned and run by the Manning Youth Action Team (MYAT), Summerfest is the culmination of the popular Live n Loud music events that have been held throughout the year.
"This year we have had consistent turnouts to our Live n Loud events and with such an awesome line-up we're sure Summerfest will bring in a good crowd to see out a fantastic year of live music," MidCoast Council community strengthening officer (youth), Russell Ingram said.
Melbourne based pop-rockers MOBS will headline this year's event with Central Coast band, Sunday Avenue providing main support.
Local acts including Hudson Rose, Dime Junkie, 5% Panic and Chelsea Harvey will round out the line-up.
"Summerfest has been a great place for local acts to really hone their skills and get their live music experience up, with the support of a local crowd," Mr Ingram said.
"It's invaluable for them and it's so good for our young people across the Mid Coast to be able to enjoy live music in a fun, safe environment."
Summerfest will be held at Harry Bennett Park on Saturday, December 7 with gates opening at 3:30pm and the event running from 4-8pm.
Entry is $10 at the gate and this is a drug and alcohol free event.
