An estimated 150 people gathered in Taree on Friday, November 29 as part of a nationwide movement to sit down in front of the offices of politicians. The gathering was addressed by a man (with family) who lost his house to the recent bushfires. Elise Rourke and Lani Bedforth, St Clare's High School students who organised the September School Strike 4 Climate, opened the event. A series of strikes in cities and towns across the country took place on Friday as part of the School Strike for Climate Australia in response to recent devastating bushfires.
