The Biripi tribe will be one of many tribes across Australia that will take part in Nation Dance, where Aboriginal people stand together in ceremony and healing and dance together on country as one at the same time.
The dance itself will begin at 1pm, but preparations will start earlier.
From 11am the ochre and dance grounds will be prepared before the all-in community dances starting at 11,30am.
At 12.30pm, participants will paint up (ochre will be available) and head down to the beach (depending on the weather) and at 1pm Biripi nation goes live with Nation Dance.
All dancers, didge players, singers and clap stick players will be leading the ceremony.
People are encouraged to wear red/black/yellow and proudly wear Aboriginal designed clothing, South Taree colours and shirts. Dancers and performers will wear their dance clothes.
A barbecue lunch will be available after the dance.
Non Aboriginal community are welcome to come support or spectate, however they are not to participate in the ceremony.
