The warning for a bush fire at Bill Crossing in Crowdy Bay National Park has been updated to watch and act.
EARLIER:
A bush fire burning at Crowdy Bay National Park has broken containment lines and is out of control.
This prompted an emergency warning for the area near Bakers Road, Coralville and Bakers Trail.
The fire is currently 1750 hectares in size and is moving east towards the coast.
Bakers Road, Crowdy Bay Road and other local roads are closed.
Smoke is visible across the Crowdy-Harrington area and further south.
Residents in the area are advised to seek shelter as the fire approaches and have protection from the heat of the fire.
Fire fighters attended to a grass fire at Harry Clarke Drive in Purfleet. It was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW.
A number of other fires are burning across the north coast but are under control.
Predicted strong winds this weekend could make conditions difficult for fire fighters and other emergency service personnel.
