At the presentation on Wednesday, November 6 at Hunter Stadium, St Joseph's Primary School Taree's Rachel Su, Coopernook Public School's Jasper Hardy, Forster Public School's Lucas Guiney and Stratford Public School's Brady Farley received district awards.
The year six students were joined by Tea Gardens Public School's Kelson Hawkins and Coopernook Public School's Kit Hardy who received district awards in the year five division.
District awards were given to students who achieved a high distinction standard or higher.
Newcastle Permanent chief people officer Felicity Laczina said the presentation recognised the top achievers of the competition.
"Huge congratulations go to these inspiring students for their excellent work in achieving incredible results in this exam. You, your families and schools can be very proud," Ms Laczina said.
In August, 19,280 year five and six students completed the 35 question exam at 335 primary schools in the Mid North Coast, Hunter, Central Coast, Northern Rivers, New England and Central West regions.
The competition challenged students to complete the exam without using calculators, rulers or geometrical instruments.
The top 150 year five students are invited to attend a two-day mathematics camp in May next year.
Here they will have the opportunity to hone their skills and meet other students who have similar interests and abilities.
