The incident occurred at around 4.10pm when an argument between a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old man turned physical at a home on Goldens Road.
The 32-year-old man is alleged to have armed himself with a knife before stabbing the 30-year-old man numerous times in the arms and chest.
The 32-year-old man then fled the scene.
Police and paramedics were called to the address shortly after and the victim was transported by ambulance to Manning Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested the 32-year-old man in Taree at 12.10am Friday, October 18.
He was charged with malicious wounding and was refused bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Forster Court today.
It is alleged that the two men were known to each other.
