Held on the October long weekend, it featured parades, sporting events, a tug'o'war and the Blessing of the Fleet, in tribute to the fishing industry so important to the Great Lakes.
We have been delving into the Great Lakes Advocate photo archives and while every picture tells a story, sometimes the background to that story is lost.
Which is why we are asking our readers to help. Do you recognise someone?
Soak up the nostalgia. Feedback and shared memories are most welcome.
Thank you Sharyn Symes for sharing this memory on the Advocate's Facebook page: "My son won 2nd prize (should of came 1st) in the icecream eating competition. My husband won the men's golfing comp. It was a great time, we lived on the central coast and came up for the oyster festival every year. Now we live here."
And Debbie Smith: "My dad Cos Amato used to dress up as Mickey Mouse or an old man for the parade. We also had the 'Blessing of the Fleet' as part of the weekend."
