Jade competed in the 200m and 500m events.
The competition was dominated by the very strong host team.
Thailand took out gold medals in every junior event.
Jade's highlight was when she paddled in the under 16 women's 500m small boats (10 paddlers) and beat the strong Thailand team in the first heat.
"We had been racing against Thailand all week and on the last day it was amazing to be racing for the finishing line and being up there with them,'' Jade said.
"It was an extremely close race and we were so excited to cross the line just 0.1 second in front.
"The whole junior team welcomed us off the boat and celebrated our success.
"Unfortunately, we were unable to maintain the success for the second heat and finished up with a well-earned silver for that event."
Jade also received a silver medal with the same team in the 200m racing and silver in the mixed 200m racing in a standard boat (20 paddlers).
Unfortunately, Jade fell sick on the first day of racing and was unable to compete for three days of the five day competition.
"It was disappointing being unable to compete after 12 months of preparation. But I was thankful that I recovered enough to compete in the last two days of the competition," she said.
This was Jade's second campaign with the Australian under 16 dragon boat team.
In 2017 she competed in France. She has enjoyed the opportunity to compete in teams with people from all over Australia, and meet competitors from around the world.
"It is a very friendly sport and I encourage people to try it out," Jade said
Jade was very thankful for the amazing people who have helped to get her ready for the championships.
"The coaches, paddlers from Manning River Dragon Boat Club and Manning Indoor Rowing and family all helped to get me fit and ready to compete. It was a group effort and I really appreciated their support."
After competition, Jade travelled with her mum, Susan, around Thailand.
"It was a lovely place to explore,'' she said.
"I especially enjoyed going to an elephant sanctuary where you fed and washed rescued elephants. It was nice to enjoy some of the local culture after such a tough competition."
Within a week of returning Jade was back paddling with her club in a regatta in Coffs Harbour.
The paddling season has started and she is straight back into competition.
This was the first opportunity for Jade to catch up with paddlers from the Manning River Dragon Boat Club, show off her medals and say thanks for their support
