The weekly Our History, Our Memories series will soon move onto its next phase.
Now, all the big moments, events and trends will be brought back to life through a series of historical photo galleries.
We have been delving into the Manning River Times photo archives and while every picture tells a story, sometimes the background to that story is lost.
Which is why we are asking our readers to help. Do you recognise a face, a venue, an occasion?
Over the next few weeks we will publish a selections of images from events such as the Manning River Aquatic Festival (remember the children's dress up night), Taree Show, race days, surf carnivals and school functions.
Soak up the nostalgia. Feedback and shared memories are most welcome.
Relive some of our best Our History, Our Memories videos
Manning River Times editor Toni Bell was thrilled with the opportunity to team up with MidCoast Stories to bring the stories to life.
"Our community loves its history and these videos capture some of that history beautifully," she said.
"Photographer Scott Calvin pitched the idea of a video series after listening to Janine Roberts and Penny Teerman from MidCoast Stories speak to a group of visitors on a walking tour of Taree.
"Janine and Penny were the ideal storytellers. Their passion for the history of the Mid Coast shines through.
"Scott's videos and journalist Rob Douglas's accompanying introductions are something the Manning River Times is proud to present."
Rob said reliving events and moments from the past is an eye-opener for younger readers.
"For someone not around to experience the likes of the Aquatic Festival, the introduction of television or the fashions of a by-gone era, this series has provided a snapshot of what made this area such an awesome place to live," he said.
A return to the video format is expected in the near future.
