Councillor Peter Epov has given notice of his intention to move a motion regarding The Bight Cemetery at the next general meeting of MidCoast Council on Wednesday, August 28.

The motion will request council "immediately undertakes" a list of 23 measures, with 15 of the measures listed under the three categories of apology, investigation and financial.
"Whilst some measures within this Notice of Motion may currently be under consideration or even be in the process of being implemented it is appropriate for the governing body of council, that is the councillors, to take responsibility; to take charge of the situation and publicly demonstrate both contrition and leadership by providing a mandated direction," Mr Epov said in the Notice of Motion.
"The community now deserves full and frank transparency regarding this incident, which can only be achieved by an independent investigation by a creditable person who is not associated with council."
