The Australian Army Band from Newcastle will play a special role at the Vietnam Veterans Day commemorative service at Taree on Sunday, August 18.

The service will be conducted by the Taree RSL Sub-branch at the RSL memorial at Club Taree.
The 28th Australian Army Cadet Unit and the 317 Squadron Australian Airforce Cadet Unit will also take part.
Master of ceremonies to the sub-branch secretary Ten Hill and the service commences at 11am with an acknowledgement to Country.
Following the hymn, backed by the army band, the Prayer for the Commemoration of the Fallen, the Prayer for Peace and Freedom and the calling of the honour roll, photos of local Vietnam Veterans who paid the supreme sacrifice will be placed on the memorial.
This will be followed by The Ode, The Last Post, Reveille and the final prayer by the sub-branch chaplain, Reverend Bill Green.
The service will conclude with The National Anthem and the dismissal of the catafalque party.
