Horse riders from around the State were kicking up dust at showgrounds around the region for the annual Glowalman Junior Campdraft and Sporting Championships.
Kelvin said the event is showing no sign of slowing down with entry numbers up from last year. Despite the crippling drought conditions across most of NSW many travelled in for the competition.
"Our entries numbers keep rising and we've had the highest number ever of local cattle donated for campdraft entries."
The Glowalman takes place on the last week of the July school holidays across three venues in the Mid Coast region.
Nabiac Junior Rodeo hosted the first round of the competition at the Nabiac Showground on Tuesday, July 16. Next it was Wingham Junior Rodeo's turn as the competition continued in the afternoon of Wednesday, July 17 and across Thursday, July 18 at the Wingham Showground.
Gloucester Junior Rodeo hosted the final round at the Gloucester Showground starting on the afternoon of Friday, July 19 and continuing across Saturday, July 20.
The Bucketts Way was turned into a major thoroughfare for the dozens of horse trucks and four-wheel drives towing horse floats as competitors moved between the three locations.
"The local business houses have also been wonderful in their support," Kelvin said.
Gloucester riders had some exceptional results across the competition. "We have some really good riders at the moment."
Although there weren't a lot of interstate competitors this year, Kelvin said there were plenty of new faces.
