A meeting held on Monday night (July 15) looked at ways to incorporate women's rugby league into Group Three. This was run by Country Rugby League's women's participation officer, Kylie Hilder from Forster. Forming a sub committee, to be assisted by the Group Three management, was one of the recommendations.
A nines competition will be held in October/November as an introduction to rugby league. This will run for four to six weeks and include skills sessions.
Under the plan this will lead into a 13-a-side competition to be played by teams from Groups Two and Three to be held in February/March.

This would also be a selection trial for the North Coast Bulldogs team to play in the 2020 Country Championships.
It was stressed at the meeting that the start of women's rugby league wil not impact on the popular women's league tag competition. This will remain part of the Group Three system.
Club presidents Jamie Moorehead (Old Bar) and Justan Buttgieg (Forster-Tuncurry) along with Belinda Anderson, Tanya Farrawell and Lauren Carmody have already accepted positions on the committee.
Nominations for the sub committee should be lodged with Group Three chief executive Mal Drury.
