Road spikes were used to stop a speeding vehicle on the Pacific Highway near The Lakes Way on Sunday, July 14.

Police report that at about 10.13am on Sunday, a red Mazda sedan was travelling north on the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook when police detected the vehicle travelling at 125kph in a sign posted 100kph zone.
Attempts by police to stop the vehicle under warning lights and sirens were not successful and the vehicle was pursued.
In order to stop the vehicle it was successfully road-spiked near The Lakes Way turnoff.
Police say they had to break the vehicle's window in order to arrest the driver who was a 62-year-old man from Mount Pritchard.
He was arrested and taken into custody where he was bail refused to appear before Forster Local Court the following day, charged with exceeding the speed limit over 20kph and not obeying the direction of police.
