Joining Rose for a photo were her daughter Diane Margaret Ogilvie, aged 57, granddaughter Vanessa Leigh Walsh, aged 40, great granddaughter Patsy Lilian Ward, aged 21, and the newest member of the family, two month old Ava Rose Stewart, Rose's great great granddaughter.
The family were photographed at an outing at Skybury coffee plantation near Mareeba, west of Cairns.
Rose, who is about to turn 87, was born Margaret Rose Johnston. She was the youngest of 13 children and grew up on a dairy farm at Craven Creek near Gloucester. She could milk a cow before she was old enough to attend school, and that was milking by hand.
She and her husband had a dairy farm at Marlee and Rose was president of the Wingham Senior Citizens Association for almost 20 years.
She lives with her niece, Gladys Polley.
