Tax Help is a free and confidential service provided by local ATO-trained volunteers and is by appointment only at Old Bar Beach Community Technology Centre.
The free service is available to low income earners - who earn around $60,000 or less per year and who have straightforward tax affairs. To find out if you are eligible and make an appointment, contact 6553-6677 between 10am and 4pm weekdays. Appointments are available on Tuesday mornings.
Don't let graffiti take over our town
Old Bar residents are encouraged to report any occurrence of graffiti they see.
Public toilets are a favourite for this form of vandalism but early reporting and removal helps make the practice unattractive. Let's all help to keep Old Bar attractive.
The simplest was is by using the MidCoast Council website.
But you can ring the State Government Graffiti Hotline. Before calling, take particular notice of the exact address or location, nearest cross street, the size of the affected area, the type of medium used e.g. spray paint or marking pen and if the words or images are offensive.
Call 1800 707 125. Once you have made the first call and registered your details with them, subsequent calls will be shorter. Get behind it and do your town a favour.
JP services readily available
Log onto http://jp.lawlink.nsw.gov.au/public/searchByNamePublic.do and enter the postcode 2430. This will give you the names and contact details of a number of JPs with their home suburb.
Although some businesses have a JP, they can only assist as work commitments permit. If you don't have access to the internet, contact the Old Bar CTC on 6553 6677 where arrangements can be made for you to meet with JP volunteer or a nearby JP.
Remember, the services of a JP are provided free of charge.
