Shortly after midday the same day, the rescue helicopter was tasked on a primary mission to The Island motocross track at Nerong, south of Bulahdelah. A 23 year old man, who had suffered back and rib injuries in an accident off his bike, was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
Bone located at Port Macquarie
Police are conducting inquiries into a bone located on a beach at Port Macquarie on Sunday, July 14.
The small bone, believed to be human, was discovered by passers-by in the vicinity of Flynn's Beach on Sunday afternoon.
Police say it will be subject to forensic examination, with any results being compared with missing person records.
