Thelma Nelson passed away at Harbourside Haven Shoal Bay on July 10, 2019 after a short illness.

Thelma was the first child of Harold and Annie Eggins, both deceased, of Taree, growing up with a younger brother Dallas who is also deceased.
Thelma married Neville Nelson (deceased) in 1941 and they had two children Adrian (deceased) and Robyn who will feel the gap left by her mother's passing.
Thelma and Neville also raised a nephew, Colin Hogan who they always counted as part of the family, as was everyone who stepped through her door.
Thelma has five grandchildren who will miss her dearly, Michelle, Janine, Craig, Michael and Glenn (deceased) and two step grandchildren Michael and Shantelle.
Thelma also has 19 great-grandchildren who will miss her antics and great love of fun and they called her "Funny Nanna".
Thelma loved all sports, both participating and watching.
In the early days she was in the Ladies March Past Team for Taree-Old Bar Surf Club. She played tennis and softball and later on played lawn bowls at Taree West and Group Three Leagues bowling club.
Thelma and Neville moved to Sydney in 1962 but returned to Taree in 1972 to be close to family.
Thelma moved to Newcastle but returned to Taree for a while but then returned to live with Robyn and her husband Mick in 2014 at Limeburners Creek.
Thelma moved to her new home at Harbourside Haven, Shoal Bay in 2016 where she made many friends with her wit and friendly nature.
Her funeral was held at Chatham Uniting Church on July 20.
