He is guest speaker at the Manning Net gathering at Wingham Services Club on July 25.
Stephen has illustrated and/or written more than 80 children's picture books. He has been nominated and won numerous awards.
Due to a hearing loss as a child, Stephen became an observer of the world around him and grew up with a love of drawing, art and books. He has worked with Walt Disney, designed puppets for TV and toured with theatre companies performing shows based on his stories.
Stephen lives locally and was asked by the Wingham chamber to paint some outdoor murals in Wingham. Last year he contributed to the Studio Spaces exhibition and series of stories in conjunction with the Manning River Times.
Manning Net meets at 6.30pm on July 25. The cost for the evening is $25, which includes a two-course meal with complimentary tea and coffee after the meal.
