This follows this week's announcement of the prizemoney boost for the Taree Gold Cup to be run Sunday August 18. The cup will be worth $100,000, up $20,000 on the 2018 figure.
Racing NSW has increased prizemoney to country racing carnivals across NSW.
Port Macquarie's cup was the other major beneficiary in the Mid North Coast Racing Association. The cup, run in October, will now be worth $200,000, up $50,000 on last year.
A Country Magic race over 1250 metres will also be added to the Taree Cup Carnival. This will be run on cup day and will carry prizemoney of $50,000. It will be restricted to country-trained gallopers.
Manning Valley Race Club chairman Greg Coleman pointed out the prizemoney for the Taree Cup has doubled in the last seven years.
Mr Coleman said the cup day program will now include the $100,000 Taree Gold Cup, the $50,000 Country Magic, the Manning Lightning, a 1000 metre open handicap worth $35,000 and a Country Maiden Showcase Plate for country-trained horses worth $40,000.
Mr Coleman added the winner of the Taree Cup will again be exempt from ballot for the rich Wyong Cup.
"That's a big attraction to provincial trainers,'' he said.
Mr Coleman said the increased prizemoney for the cup could mean interest from major city stables.
"But more than likely it will be a great opportunity for provincial and country trainers - the people who support us all year,'' he said.

Mr Coleman said Manning Valley Race Club is 'very grateful for whatever we receive from Racing NSW.'
"You have to keep this in context with the club's TAB turnover from meetings.''
Mr Coleman said that under Racing NSW's standard distribution, clubs must return at a minimum 80 per cent of prizemoney back to the industry participants. He said Manning Valley Race Club's return is 97 per cent, one of the highest in NSW.
The Taree Cup Carnival will open on Friday August 16 where the $32,000 Hopkins-Livermore Cup will be the feature event.
