Andy and Deb Saunders from Wallabi Point are among five couples chosen from 45,000 entries to compete in this year's season of the Channel Nine series The Block. While the official air date hasn't been announced yet, the television station has started advertising the series and has now announced the couples taking part, meaning it will not be far away.
The Block is in its 15th season and sees five couples transform a dilapidated property into five top-end homes, delivering a room each week to be scored by the judges. The building this year is The Oslo in St Kilda, built more than 150 years ago on the back of the Victorian goldrush. Once home to society families, the newly rich and the nation's elite, decades of neglect has seen the houses become a sprawling mess of a building.
Scott Cam is back as host, with Block veteran Shelley Craft. Site foremen are Keith and Dan and judges are Neale Whitaker, Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer.
If they win, Andy and Deb score $100,000, plus whatever profits their home can make on auction day.
