Motor club's short run to Saltwater
The Taree Historic Motor Club is a group of like minded enthusiasts who enjoy cars and company. If you are interested in joining the group please contact Robyn Higson on 0408 755 595.
The designated venue for the club's June short run was Saltwater. The run is mainly for older vehicles to participate in although any models are most welcome.
There are a number of venues for the first Sunday of each month e.g. Manning Point (when road conditions are suitable), Wingham Brush, Coopernook Pub, Harrington, Croki and Saltwater.
The idea is to travel at a more relaxed pace and we bring our own morning tea and lunch and just sit around enjoying the wonderful environment and each other's company.
At the June venue one of our members brought along his beautiful 1928 Dodge Tourer which he restored years ago.
Our July run was to be to Manning Point but due to the road works we will also return to Saltwater (weather permitting).
Whatever vehicle you drive please take care.
Markets this Sunday
The very successful and popular markets at the beach are on again this Sunday.
Don't forget, the markets are now located near the surf club and skate park.
Pop along and see what is on offer. A wide range of goods are offered for sale.
Sand replenishment group
The Old Bar Sand Replenishment Group has reported on the current state of their activities.
They include action on the stormwater from Racecourse Creek, nourishment for Old Bar Beach from dredging of Farquhar Inlet and discussion regarding gabion walls.
There was also a positive report indicating that recent sand scraping had been shown to be successful.
The annual general meeting of the group will be held on Sunday, August 25 at 2.30pm at Club Old Bar. Annual membership is due on July 1 and is $10. Come along and learn more of the activities of this important group.
Have a look at the fence at 30 Old Bar Road for more information.
Elaine Pearce is the president of this team of hard working volunteers and she can be contacted on 0404 229 145 for any further information.
Craft at Old Bar
It is hard to believe the year has flown so quickly. The final gathering for second term is on July 3. We'll end the term making a cute felt Santa ornament (kit supplied). We will then head out for a delicious "Christmas in July" luncheon.
Craft at Old Bar resumes for third term on July 31. Further information in a couple of weeks.
