MidCoast Council is bringing back the .id team to run workshops for anyone who's keen to understand our local population and key demographic information.
The company .id brings together teams of demographic and spatial analysts, urban economists, industry sector experts, IT and data management specialists, and is the largest population forecasting team in the country.
"MidCoast Council provides demographic information, expertly presented by .id, free on our website for everyone to access, and once again, we're pleased to be able to provide workshops to guide people through the vast amounts of information that's there," says council's Lyndie Hepple.
"In the past these workshops have been well attended, and if you came last year, we encourage you to come along again, there's new things to learn every year."
The information that is freely available includes population statistics, including community and area profiles, age break downs, socio-economic status, home ownership and much more. Population growth forecasts and economic profiles of the area are included, providing valuable information for strategic and future planning.
If you're part of a community group, the statistics can help you demonstrate need for your funding applications - vital to helping you secure grants.
The workshops will also benefit businesses, students, educational institutions and government agencies, allowing for better marketing, strategic planning and improving community outcomes across a range of social activities.
The workshops are being held as follows:
- Tea Gardens Baptist Church - Monday July 8, from 10am - 12.30pm
- Forster Council Chambers - Monday July 8 from 3pm - 4.30pm or 5pm - 6.30pm
- Taree Council Chambers - Tuesday July 9 from 9am - 10.30am or 11am - 12.30pm
- Gloucester at Council's offices - Tuesday July 9 from 2.30pm - 4pm.
If you can't wait for the workshop to access some community statistics, they're available at www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/communitystatistics.
There's no need to book for your preferred workshop, just turn up.
