For those of you who love a laugh (and who doesn't?) we have the annual guffaw-fest returning when the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow hits town on Wednesday the 3rd of July. We've also secured comic genius Arj Barker's hilarious new show "We Need To Talk" fresh from a hit season at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He'll be strutting our stage in September. If Irish dance and music is your thing, you'll adore "A Taste of Ireland", the international hit show featuring World Champion dancers and musicians celebrating the best of the Emerald Isle on July 9. The Melbourne City Ballet bring the magic of two beloved stories, with "Alice in Wonderland" in July and "the Wizard of Oz" in October, and there's a treat on the way with "Blue Love", the acclaimed theatre-dance production bursting with wit and laugh-out-loud parody on October 26.
Classics fans will love The Australian Tenors, a finalist from the Sydney International Piano Competition, the world premiere of "From Hidden Valleys" - a locally produced film and live soundtrack experience from renowned composer Jonathan Billingham, as well as world famous flautist Jane Rutter who will be joined by West End musical star Peter Cousens on November 10. The globally loved Glenn Miller Orchestra will be wowing the crowds in September with a concert spectacular featuring all your favourite Swing Band era hits performed by 24 singers, dancers and musicians. If you're feeling nostalgic then get yourself along to Herman's Hermits "6 O'Clock Hop", the Joe Cocker/ Blues Brothers tribute: "With A Little Help From My Friends" (both in August), The Elvis Trilogy in October, or Harrison Craig's Elton John Tribute in November
The incredible Yamato Drummers of Japan will blow you away with their passion and skill late in August, and there's magic in the air when Jay Scott Berry entrances audiences with illusions and songs in his show "Incantations" in September. Besides all the live entertainment we continue with our award winning OnScreen films, and we're proud to announce we will be screening Peter Jackson's exceptional colourised WW1 masterpiece "They Shall Not Grow Old".
