A team from Bulahdelah Central School took on and won the Bake or Burn competition at this year's Tocal Field Days.

The competition is open to students of all ages and food technology, hospitality and cookery students were invited to participate. Held in the Good Food and Wine hall this competition encourages students to demonstrate their skills in front of a live audience.
The school's hospitality teacher, Elizabeth Smith said the judges were particularly impressed with the strength of the Bulahdelah team in terms of their knife skills, use of local ingredients, the ability to create wonderful, fresh flavours.
"They displayed outstanding teamwork under stressful completion conditions," she said. "Their delightful personalities shone through with their smiles and interactions with the judges and audience.
"Congratulations on the well-deserved win to Heidi Buchanan, Tahlia Mancini and Flynn Weiley."
