"Our blue group did the activity 'Get a Grip', which is an activity where you have to make a bionic hand. The other activity was 'Build It' where we needed to build a chair. Overall I think it was a great day because it was a day off school and it was fun!" Blake Matheson - Year 6

"Our yellow group which consisted of Jayden Aberhart, Axel Case, Charlie Hill-Mather and I went into a dark room where we had to send each other messages through light pulses. We had recess eating a sausage sizzle and went to our next and last challenge, the 'Mars Buggy'. We had 1 hour to design and build a working Mars Buggy." Bao Tran - Year 6

Years 5 and 6 students went to Taree for the Science and Engineering Challenge. There were lot's of different schools who attended. We had many different challenges to do like 'String-Along, Earthquake, Robotic Hand and lots more. We were split-up into groups of colours. BCS came third out of every school there. "At the start of the day we did 'Max Power' and we enjoyed it the most because it involved flicking switches and turning knobs. The Science and Engineering Challenge was definitely hard especially the 'Bridge Building'. We ended up choosing triangles for our main shape. Although it was hard it was really fun." Lillian Jenkins Year 6

"I was in the green group with Bethany Shepherd, Daisie Wheaton and Katelyn Shepherd. Our first activity was 'Earthquake'. We had to build a 38cm tower using only straws, paper and tape. Our tower had to remain intact on the shaking machine while holding weights. Ours held two weights and we came second." Taylah Tassell Year 6
