This month's guest speaker is Dr Teresa Anderson AM, the CEO of Sydney Local Health District - Community Health and Wellbeing, and Women Leaders.
Teresa originally hails from the Manning Valley. She trained as a speech pathologist after initially winning a scholarship to study maths and her talents and passions were recognised early in her career at Liverpool Hospital.
This led to her progression through roles that now see her as CEO of one the largest and most diverse health districts in Sydney.
Teresa also somehow finds time to serve on several boards. ...and to spend time with us!
Teresa's dedication to public health saw her receive the award of Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2018 for her service to community health and to public administration in NSW as a clinician, manager and health service executive.
She has won numerous other awards for innovation and Excellence in the Public Sector.
Teresa contracted rheumatic fever at age six, necessitating nearly a year away from school and experiencing the disability of being confined to a wheelchair, has given her an appreciation that fuels her drive.
The cost for the evening is $25, which includes a two-course meal with complimentary tea and coffee after the meal.
RSVP by 10am Monday, May 27 to Susan Ryan 6553 5150, Ruth Brown 6553 9877, or Marilyn Thomas 6551 3416.
