Lucy will play halfback.
She was selected following the NSW Country Championships played at Crescent Head, where she was a member of the Mid North Coast team.
Lucy is the Manning River Times-Iguana Sportstar of the Week, earning a $50 open order at Iguana.
Mid North Coast finished fourth in the championships at Crescent, winning two matches from six starts. As with most of the team, Lucy's rugby experience is rather limited.
"I've played a few games of sevens with the school, that's about all,'' she said.
However, Lucy has played a bit of rugby league as a halfback, so the job was foisted on her.
"I was happy with the way I played, but I was still surprised to make it (the Country team),'' she said.
The squad will next meet for a two day camp early next month at Narrabeen before heading to Queensland on June 13 or 14 to play Queensland.
There'll be a further engagement in August at Newcastle when Country will tackle City and from here it's expected a State 15s side will be named, although this is still to be confirmed.
Lucy concedes she's still coming to terms with the vagaries of rugby, admitting she finds it 'a bit complicated.'
However, she's played her share of league tag and rugby league with the Taree Panthers in the Hastings Nines and at school.
When in year six at St Joseph's Primary School she was a member of the boy's rugby league team that won the State All Schools Championship playing in the second row. At this stage Lucy prefers league, but she quickly added she's happy to see what opportunities may come from rugby union.
However, women's rugby league is also going ahead and that's also in her longer term sights.
"Playing in the women's NRL would be good,'' she said.
Lucy follows the Sydney Roosters in the women's NRL but her allegiances switch to the Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL.
A versatile athlete, Lucy is at home in the surf, the football field playing the two rugby codes and the basketball court.
She's a member of the Taree Tornadoes under 16 representative basketball side.
Lucy also shows promise as a board rider and has previously qualified for the State finals.
However, these days she doesn't spend as much time in the surf as she'd like.
"I just don't have the time,'' she explained.
Lucy is in year nine at St Clare's High School.
