The Old Bar Bridge Club is a social bridge club which meets at Club Old Bar on Wednesdays and Fridays at noon for 12.30pm.
Lessons can be organised for those who wish to learn to play this fascinating game.
Bridge is social. As a social game, bridge is unparalleled and a great way to meet new people. It can be played at many different levels, ranging from a social foursome, right up to local, national and international competitions. At whatever level you play, you are guaranteed to make a new network of friends!
Bridge is a game for all ages. Bridge is probably the only competitive activity that all generations can do together and all have an equal chance of winning.
It is a myth that bridge is an old person's game. It is a game best learnt when you are young and enjoyed for the rest of your life. It is a game that you can spend your whole life studying, learning and playing yet never fully master
Bridge is good value for money. It requires very little in the way of equipment and is thus a relatively inexpensive pastime. Unlike poker, it is not usually played for money.
A new session of lessons begins this Friday, May 17 at 10am at Club Old Bar. Phone Jill on 0407 733 537 to register your interest or just turn up. We'd love to see you!
Use the graffiti hotline
Old Bar residents are encouraged to report any occurrence of graffiti they see.
Old Bar has not been seriously affected by this form of vandalism but early reporting and removal helps make the practice unattractive. Let's all help to keep Old Bar attractive.
This can be done by using the MidCoast Council website or by ringing the State Government Graffiti Hotline. Before calling, take particular notice of the exact address or location, nearest cross street, the size of the affected area, the type of medium used e.g. spray paint or marking pen and if the words or images are offensive.
Call 1800 707 125. Once you have made the first call and registered your details with them, subsequent calls will be shorter. Get behind it and do your town a favour
