Of the new courses this term, The Smell of Money and Time Traveller: Scandinavia have drawn large groups, with Let's Walk remaining popular as well.
Manning Valley University of the Third Age held its enrolment and annual general meeting on the morning of April 29.
New members elected to the committee are Heather Abbott as assistant secretary and Robyn Neufeld as welfare officer, along with continuing officers president Lina Ingram, secretary Chris Abbott, treasurer Kerry Formann, membership officer Judith Byrne and publicity Dawn Rankin and Nancy Dixon.
During the AGM, a well-deserved life membership was presented to foundation member Lucy Bukulic for 20 years of active participation and promotion of U3A. An impressive list of her many achievements was announced to an appreciative audience.
The U3A's 20 year anniversary celebration luncheon will be held on July 9. Members are asked to share memories of their involvement and benefit from membership over the years. These are to be printed in a booklet.
