According to the Bureau of Meteorology, there is a possibility of snow on Friday evening.
There is a 60 per cent chance of showers throughout the daytime with temperatures due to just reach double digits at 10 degrees.
Overnight lows could drop to four degrees.
Avid snow chasers from the Barrington Tops Snow Chasers Facebook group have been watching the weather reports closely as they prepare for the season.
Keeping its followers up to date, administrators have posted:
"Moisture has increased just a little for Friday afternoon/dusk. Temps are still very borderline as are the winds.
"This is a very small window 1 to 3 hrs that we may have for anything to fall and it will fall at the highest points in Barrington Tops with Polblue being the most exposed to the right winds it is probably the best place to be."
