And while we are being brain-washed at the moment with the backward mantra of political parties - working covertly in the background, overseas corporations (with the help of our very own ex-pollies) are lobbying to dominate the water market.
Already we have Coca-Amatil (Mount Franklin, Neverfail) and the world's largest beverage company Japan's Asahi Group Holdings and associated Schweppes Australia, bottling water for next to nothing and riding roughshod over communities.
Surely it's enough that the coal mining and associated industries are draining aquifers and the Great Artesian Basin being gifted by the relevant governments at no cost.
One holds great fears that local government will be looking down the gun-barrel of future privatisation of water assets.
Water is Life!
