Wauchope are now the only undefeated side in the competition following Macleay Valley's 24-22 defeat at the hands of Wingham at Verge Street Oval.
Anthony Boyd's men were too good for Port City in a gutsy 28-10 win in Port Macquarie.
The Blues made it difficult for themselves, overcoming a lack of possession in a first-half dominated by errors in drizzling rain to score five tries to two.
Coach Anthony Boyd said the foundation for the victory was laid by a stirring defensive effort in the first half where they went to the sheds with an 8-4 advantage.
"The first half we would have been lucky to have had 20 percent of the ball," he said.
"If they make errors, they've got to be brave enough to back them up and defend it. That's an area we do want to improve on and today they showed a lot of resilience."
The points then came in the second half as the possession evened up with the benefit of a 6-1 penalty count.
"We didn't get too frustrated when things weren't going our way," Boyd said.
"Footy games work in tides where it's up and down and you've got to go with it."
Breakers coach Dan Kemp admitted his side "fell away" after 20 minutes and then things slowly unravelled from there.
"It looked like they thought they were chasing 40 points after 20 minutes and at no stage was the game out of their grasp until about 20 minutes to go," he said.
"There is no faith in the program which we better fix real quick.
"That comes from a team that's losing because there are teams that are scared of losing and there are teams that are scared of not winning.
"They're two very different things - we should be scared of not winning and going out there playing confident football and sticking to a program.
"We don't get back on the bike and we start digging the hole deeper and don't react to negatives very well at the moment."
Port City's stuttering attack didn't pose too many questions for the Wauchope defence with their only two tries coming from kicks.
They have now only scored 54 points in four matches including only 14 in their last two.
"They're not clueless, they know exactly what they're trying to achieve, but there are blokes getting in the way," Kemp said.
"A lot of the time it's through effort because they're trying so hard and they need to have faith in the program which they don't at the moment.
"We didn't react to a couple of negatives at all and started to get a bit individual out there and never got out of it."
