The Climate Election National Day of Action event was held outside of Lyne MP Dr David Gillepsie's office before a march down Victoria Street.
Many children, under the banner of School Strike 4 Climate, took part and were at the front of the march. Signs held up by members of the group included 'No Planet B', 'L/NP Out' and 'Stop Adani'.
Similar action across Australia was designed to get the attention of sitting members and candidates for the upcoming federal election.
All groups demand every federal member and candidate commit to urgent action on climate, no new fossil fuels, 100 per cent renewables by 2030 and stopping the Adani coal mine in Queensland.
