Donning his Australian Light Horse reenactment uniform, he was out front for the 8.30am parade at Adamstown and Newcastle's main parade at 9.15am.
Rodney said the Adamstown parade was "most enjoyable".
"Great crowds," he said. "They were unbelievable. So many people lined the streets at Adamstown and Newcastle."
His role with the Light Horse has seen him travel extensively. In 2014, the Vietnam War veteran was the only Australian who helped to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Great War by taking part in last month's 'Sea to Somme' ride in France.
Last year, he was part of a contingent of riders taking part in the Taree Anzac Day march. He had taken possession of a saddle and swag that belonged to World War II Light Horseman Eric Scarlett and one of the horses carried Mr Scarlett's saddle and acted as the 'memorial horse'.
He has plans to return to the Taree march with the Light Horse next Anzac Day.
