A 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged following yesterday's fatality on the Pacific Highway near Nerong.

The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Forster Police Station and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, five counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct - in charge of motor vehicle and negligent driving occasioning death.
More charges are expected to be laid
Just before 2pm Sunday, April 14 emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle crash on the Pacific Highway, Nerong.
A Ford Falcon GT, driven by a 54-year-old Minmi man, a Subaru Forester, being driven by a 23-year-old Blackalls Park man and with a 26-year-old Kilaben Bay male passenger, and Hyundai Terracan, driven by a 71-year-old Port Macquarie man and three passengers, aged 70, 10, and 8, were all involved in the horrific accident.
The 23-year-old driver of the Subaru Forester died at the scene.
All other occupants suffered various injuries, ranging from minor to serious and were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.
None of their injuries are considered to be life threatening.
Officers from Manning Great Lakes Police District, with assistance from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit attended and established a crime scene.
Traffic was banked back for kilometres and caused long delays as police and emergency services personnel worked to free the trapped and injured people.
