Art exhibition
It will be all hands-on deck at the Lansdowne Community Hall on May 1 as this is the day that entries will begin arriving to be hung in the art exhibition being held at the hall.
All entries forms are to be in by Friday, April 19 so that the art can be hung for display on May 1 and ready for the opening on May 4.
Hall managers along with Louise Green and community members have worked many hours to make this event successful.
It is the first time something like this has been held at the hall and hopefully not the last time.
It is planned to make this an annual event. It will only be a gold coin entry into the exhibition and the people will be the judge as to who wins the various sections.
There will also be entertainment with Heath Watts playing and singing his great music over the weekend.
Most art works will be available for purchase.
The event runs for two days. Food, drinks, tea and coffee will be sold through the weekend.
For further information please phone Rhonda Hardes on 0418 920 984 or Louise Green on 0439 594 754.
Upper Lansdowne entertainment
The next amazing night of entertainment being held at the Upper Lansdowne Memorial Hall will be on Wednesday evening, April 24 commencing at 7pm with Mélisande (électrotrad) who are back in Australia and playing big events such as The National Folk, Blue Mountains and Port Fairy Festivals.
They sing in French and English and are considered to be creative, inspiring and delightful. "Mélisande (électrotrad) has taken two very different genres, electronic and traditional, and melded them into a unique form of music, electrotrad. Borrowing from the past and aiming for the future they have a sound and stage presence that will make you want to get up and dance! They are not to be missed."
As usual tasty, home-made food, tea and coffee will be available, but feel free to BYO drinks and nibbles. Bookings are only available on line for this one so just go to their web site "Upper Lansdowne hall" and book your ticket.
