Offered by MidCoast Council's economic development team, the workshops are designed to equip businesses with the knowledge and skills required to prepare quotations and tenders for council business.
"The workshops will support local businesses in improving their capacity to supply goods and services for the many and varied projects we put out to market each year, and they'll provide important insights into our procurement processes and policy," council's economic development coordinator, Robyn Brennan, said.
"We appreciate the process is specific and can sometimes seem quite complex, so in our first workshop attendees will come away with the knowledge and confidence to put their businesses forward as a prospective supplier."
Workshops will be provided in both Taree and Forster, with the first Taree workshop taking place at council chambers from 5.30pm - 8pm on Tuesday, May 7, while the Forster workshop will be held at Forster council chambers on Wednesday, May 8.
These workshops will focus on opportunities to do business with council, developing relationships and effective communication, how to read council's quotation and tender documentation, establishing and communicating your unique selling proposition, and how to write effectively when responding to a request for quotation or tender.
They will be facilitated by leading tender evaluation management consultant, Col Lange.
The first of a two-part series, the follow-up workshops will take place later in the year.
