The establishment of MidCoast Council will disadvantage the people of Great Lakes and the Manning Valley for generations to come. The ratepayers of the council are responsible for roads that would stretch from Sydney to almost Perth if linked end to end along with more than 500 bridges.
Amalgamation promised savings, but somehow the general manager’s salary is $450,000 per year and the executive team another $1.3m annually (source MCC Annual Report 2017-2018). The Premier, Gladys Berejiklian, earns a shade under $300,000 or two thirds that of the MCC GM.
This State election should be a referendum on MidCoast Council. By all means, if you love MidCoast Council vote for Mr Bromhead.
