Friday, March 14 was just such a day at Ink Kuts Tattoo and Barber Shop in Manning Mall, Taree.
Ten-year-old Joshua Hetherington from Nabiac had 30cm of beautiful blonde ringlets cut off, and as an added bonus, had the amount he raised shaved into his new do - $1000.
"A proud young man, raising money for an amazing foundation," Ink Kut's Cheyenne Wayling said.
Tashana Motteram, 19, from Taree had her head shaved for the second year running, and has so far raised $350.
While the five days in March are the official dates for the World's Great Shave, anyone wishing to take part can choose another date to suit, and Ink Kuts are more than happy to help out.
"We have a foundation jar at the shop for donations, and will happily host for anyone else raising money for The Worlds Greatest shave," Cheyenne said.
