RED weed continues to be a problem for beach and rock anglers in our area.
Crowdy beach is still infested with this nuisance and the weed is moving north and south with the wind changes. Anglers need to find an area of the beach that is not affected to catch a few fish.
Tailor are on the bite on lures and bait from Crowdy beach but as they are chasing small whitebait, small lures must be used. Bonito slabs will also attract fish.
Some black drummer to 2.5kgs were caught from the rocks on the weekend on cunjevoi bait.
In the river bream and flathead remain on the bite with some flathead over 70cm being landed. The best time to fish the wall is around slack water on either high or low tide. - Ian Pereira
