Smoother and safer, the section of the busy connector road between Berady Lane and Warwiba Road has been transformed through a makeover that involved reconstructing the road pavement with asphalt for durability, widening and straightening the road in parts, and bitumen sealing.
The work started in November last year and finished last week with line marking.
MidCoast Council’s Director, Engineering and Infrastructure Robert Scott said the focus on improving the area's transport network has prioritised busier roads.
"Our current capital works program also aims to deliver improved safety outcomes, and better value for money by using techniques that will reduce on-going maintenance costs," he said.
The Old Bar Road project was funded by the NSW Government in association with MidCoast Council, as part of the $100M Road Upgrade Package.
As part of the package, work started on a section of Avalon Road at Krambach this month, with works also scheduled for The Lakes Way at Rainbow Flat, and various sections along Thunderbolts Way.
