Lansdowne Public School held their awards at their first school assembly for 2019.

The awards for class K/1/2 were as follows:
Student of the Week is Olivia Steed. Olivia received her award for being a kind-hearted class member who is always eager to assist a support her peers. Class awards were presented to Mace McHutchison for a big welcome to Lansdowne Public School and to Hamish Chown for his excellent listening skills and working hard at his table. The Artists award was presented to Charlee Smith for a great ‘Self-Portrait’. Kade Currie received his bronze award, Rhys Currie received his silver award and Kataya Potts was presented with her 2nd gold and 3rd gold award.
Class 3/4/5/6 awards:
Student of the Week award was presented to Dakota Witchard. Dakota received his award for Working hard in class and coping with change. Class awards were presented to Ben Booth, Ivy McHutchison and Sai McHutchison for a big welcome to Lansdowne Public School.
The Lansdowne school is circulating a survey about Out of Hours School Care (OHSC). It is important that if this is a service you would use, you return the survey. Their first step in applying for this service is to provide proof that the community has a need for OHSC. If anyone is interested in before and after school care, please contact the school as soon as possible.
Circus in a Suitcase, a workshop in circus skills, clowning and acrobalance will be held soon at Lansdowne school. Students will discover their own unique clowning character through a series of improvisations before learning basic slapstick techniques. This is followed by a juggling workshop using scarfs and balls then onto acrobalance using bodies to build partner and group pyramids in various combinations. The students will combine all these skills and devise a short clown piece using their own imaginations and their clown desires.
The first Lansdowne school P and C fund raising event for 2019 will be held at the school on Saturday March 23 while the State election is being held. They will be running a barbecue, cake stall and a bric-a-brac stall. Donations of items would be welcomed.
Lansdowne Football Club
The Lansdowne Football club will hold the last of their registration days tomorrow, Saturday February 23 at the oval at 9am. The club is looking for players and coaches.
Market and car boot sale
Stall bookings are now being taken for the next Lansdowne hall community market and car boot sale to be held on Saturday March 30 in the hall and surrounding grounds. Stall holders, big or small are welcome. Come along and enjoy the beautiful friendly Lansdowne countryside. Enjoy the great music by our very talented Heath Watts, great sausage sandwiches, wonderful morning teas and some very amazing items from the stall holders. The doors open from 8am to noon.
