Denise Brydon was unanimously re-elected to remain as president, and was congratulated on her outstanding effort in that capacity during 2018. Vice president is now Lyn Hadson, having handed over her previous role as treasurer to David Raw. The new secretary is Sue Langdown who will be ably assisted by husband Peter as assistant secretary. Ardis Emmerton remains in the role of publicity officer, while Leonie Horsburgh is in charge of raffles, and Jim Brydon is the librarian.
The Bonsai Club meets at Club Taree at 1pm on the first Sunday of each month for a general meeting, and on the fourth Saturday of each month for a workshop, where newer members are helped and encouraged by the more experienced members in the art of growing, pruning, shaping and generally looking after bonsai trees. These workshops are held at various members' homes, and everyone is encouraged to bring along a tree or two to be worked on.
During the year several social outings to visit other bonsai clubs and local nurseries are organised by the committee.
New members are always welcome and encouraged to learn this amazing art. If you would like to join, or learn more about the Bonsai Club, please contact president Denise on 6550 7314, or attend a meeting at Club Taree at 1pm on the first Sunday of each month.
