The group’s president, Alan Tickle said improvements flagged by the action in correspondence to candidates in the upcoming State election include locating both a catherisation laboratory and MRI as part of the expansion of imaging and emergency department, a short stay unit and increased theatre capacity.
“It has been called out that the standard of facilities and capacity at Manning Hospital need to be elevated to a similar acute care capability as Maitland Hospital, and given our demographics and population, that is appropriate and demanded by this community,” Mr Tickle said.
“We haven’t forgotten the Forster community either and our talks have included realistic provision of services and outreach to that area.”
