Alita (Rosa Salazar) is found by the mysterious Dr Dyson Ido (Christopher Waltz) while he is searching a scrap heap for cyborg parts. He puts her cyborg self back together and she becomes a lethal, dangerous fighting machine. But she cannot remember who she is, or where she came from. Dr Ido believes she is the one being who can break the cycle of death and destruction in the ruinous metropolis called Scrapyard, which smolders beneath the fabled floating city of Tiphares. Alita becomes a battle angel, fighting with everything she has to rid Scrapyard of evil.
