Meldrum smashed an astonishing 12 sixes and nine fours against United on his way to top scoring with 125 runs.
“I think I was just seeing them pretty good,” Meldrum said of his performance.
“I love playing at Chatham Park, it’s a great deck to play on.”
Opposing captain Ricky Campbell said the seasoned big-hitter was difficult to dismiss.
“He’s a pretty special player,” Campbell said.
“We only bowled three or four bad balls at him but when he’s in that mood he’s hard to stop.”
The result puts Meldrum at the top of the list for run scorers this season. He now has 357 runs at an average of 51.00 and a strike rate of 173.3.
He scored 116 against cellar-dwellers Nulla two months ago and made a half-century against United in the season opener last October.
